Fulton County is home to approximately 168,000 acres of forestland. Timber harvesting is regulated by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and requires erosion and sediment control practices to protect local waterways. Harvesting activities that disturb more than 5,000 square feet require a written Erosion & Sediment (E&S) Control Plan. The Conservation District encourages landowners, loggers, and foresters to contact us before harvesting begins for guidance, a site visit, or assistance with developing an E&S Plan.
